ATHOUF IBNU TAMA


Athouf Ibnu Tama is a highly regarded professional in the banking industry, with more than 36 years of extensive experience. Throughout his career, Athouf has consistently demonstrated the ability to deliver successful outcomes in complex projects, earning him a strong reputation as a trusted expert in banking and finance, international transactions, business management and development, banking spin-off initiatives, foreign exchange projects, as well as business and legal analysis.
Athouf obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Indonesia in 1989. Driven by a strong commitment to continuous professional growth, he later completed his Master of Laws degree at the University of Indonesia in 2004.
He began his professional career at Panin Bank in 1989 as a Treasury Foreign Exchange Dealer, followed by participation in the Officer Development Program at Bank Duta (1990–1991). At a relatively young age, Athouf was entrusted with senior responsibilities, serving as Head of Export-Import and International Banking, Treasury and International Banking Division at Bank Duta (1992–1996). During this period, he was also actively involved in the Establishment of the Foreign Exchange Bank at Bank Bukopin (1995–1996). His career subsequently expanded internationally when he joined the Bank of New York (1996–1997) in the area of Financial Institutions and Securities Processing. He later assumed the role of Head of Trade Finance and Transactional Banking Division and Corporate Title Assistant Vice President at Bank Nusa International (1997–2000), followed by his appointment as Vice President, International Banking and Treasury Division at Bank Danamon in 2000. In 2001, Athouf became a Partner at RAH and Partner Law Firm, where he successfully led the Preparation and Refinement of Foreign Exchange Transaction SOP for Bank Muamalat. He then continued his banking career at Bank Muamalat Indonesia (2001–2005) in Transactional Banking and International Banking, concluding this phase with the successful Refinement of Foreign Exchange Transaction SOP for Bank Syariah Mandiri. Between 2005 and 2006, he held roles in Transactional Banking and International Banking at Bank Muamalat Indonesia and International Banking and Treasury Division at Bank Syariah Mandiri. He later served as Vice President and Head of Sharia Business Unit at Bank DKI (2006–2010). More recently, Athouf played a key role in major projects, including the Preparation of Sharia Foreign Exchange and Sharia Treasury Transaction SOP for Bank Nano Syariah (2021–2022) and the Review of Sharia Foreign Exchange Transaction SOP for Bank Permata.
Currently, Athouf Ibnu Tama serves as a Subject Matter Expert at Karim Consulting Indonesia and as a Senior Partner at RIVAI Business Consulting. With his extensive experience, high professional caliber, and deep understanding of banking operations, Athouf is widely trusted to handle complex banking projects and to deliver effective, reliable, and strategic solutions tailored to the evolving needs of banking clients.
